School Council Presentation to the BSFA

The school council here at Bleasby were very busy last term consulting their peers on what could be done to make our school even better. Children gave the councillors a wealth of ideas and they brought these to a formal meeting, where they discussed the ideas at length, and chose 6 key areas they would like to improve.

These were:

  • Advanced dictionaries for year 6 children
  • Improving sporting facilities
  • Investing in drama equipment
  • Improving hygiene and reducing waste
  • Investing in wet play and playground equipment
  • Increasing the range of extra-curricular activities available to students

In the new term, children then invited the BSFA (Bleasby School Friends Association) into school for them to present their ideas in order to secure funding and support, to action as many points as they can. Mrs Janene Scurfield and Mrs Nicola Bennett kindly offered their time to watch the presentation and question the children on their proposals. As it was on May 4th (Star Wars Day) the children gave their presentation a little twist and did an excellent job - the ladies were very impressed with the councillors and several action points have been raised. Watch this space.
